I've worked on startups as a technical cofounder a couple times as well. I've lead a software development agency at one point as well. For coding my primary language is Ruby and my framework of choice is Ruby on Rails but I can work in most languages or platforms.

I'm a Jack(son) of all trades, an engineer and teacher and tinkerer at heart. I got my start as a high school physics and engineering teacher (a very particular and demanding flavor of UX design), where I built several custom education applications for my own classroom use. I dropped out of a PhD program at Vanderbilt in Learning Sciences after several years of design research into how learning happens "in the wild" with and in complex "sociotechnical systems" -- production breweries, water treatment facilities, particle accelerators. Then I brought those methods and insights to bear in a generalist role as management consultant with North Highland, where I split my time between change management and tech/data strategy projects for a wide range of clients.

I'm looking for work in a technical role, but also building on my own at the same time. Knowledge management systems, local/private AI apps for mind-palace-making and connecting with creative friends over shared projects or a mixed-reality D&D campaign. Also hugely into climate & sustainability tech, clean energy, geothermal and space-based solar, agrivoltaics, new materials, emerging tech.

Ofrenda, a privacy-first family tree/history & multimedia archive app with AI metadata enriching & media upscaling abilities. Also, I tore apart my old Eufy vacuum and I'm hacking it into a little droid buddy.
